SHOJI
The comfort of natural wood and the craftsmanship.
Shoji that delivers the brilliance of “KI = Wood” and “Te=Hands”, KITOTE.
BOLD LINE
In the "Bold Line", the stile/crosspiece/kumiko muntin/lattice pieces have the same thickness and depth measurements. Also,
we’ve pursued simple and elegant detail by eliminating levels for flatness to blend seamlessly with the modern architecture.
-
GRID LARGE
GRID SMALL
In the standard Bold Line series we selected a near-square shape for the shoji grid to give it a simple overall design. We aimed to set a new standard in Shoji that can be applied to the Japanese or Western sensibilities.*Handles are not equipped. Slit handles may be applied as options.
-
TRUSS
BLOCK
This is a new wooden muntin / lattice type with design ideas taken from the structures of bridges and buildings. It is a rectilinear and sharp Shoji that combines durability and elegance which produces modern space ambiance. *Handles are not equipped. Slit handles may be applied as options.
-
LAYER RANDOM
LAYER CHECK
This is a new type of Shoji with a dual structure, which combines vertical and horizontal latticework in the front and back. (Patented) Depth is attained by the three-dimensional assembling method, featuring an elegant translucency of light and shadows. By having the dual structure, screen on two sides, this type of Shoji boasts a superior heat insulation feature than the conventional structure. * Slit handle will be included in the Layer Random and Layer Check types of the Bold Line series.
SLIM LINE
For the Slim Line, we aspired to present the elegance of kumiko/lattice and used a thinner wood
of 6mm rather than the conventional 8mm used on common shoji screens.
Shoji that maximizes the delicate technique of latticework will pleasantly decorate the space.
-
TOME
SOUND
EDGE
Cutting the wooden pieces and creating a corner by not crisscrossing the pieces is a technique called Tome. Its freedom of design, unrestricted by the conventional notion of shoji is impressive.* Slit handle will be included in the Slim Line series.
-
IGETA
PATCH
STEP
To create wooden pieces in a shape of 井 in Japanese Kanji character is called the Igeta technique. It is an eloquent modern design that incorporates an ancient method, displaying systematic patterns of Igeta. * Slit handle will be included in the Slim Line series.
-
KIRIKO
CHESS
FLAG
Not using stiles nor crosspieces for binding the lattice, but cutting in the middle is called a Kiriko technique.
The intensified light and shade will create a comforting rhythm in the space. * Slit handle will be included in the Slim Line series. -
NUKI
SUN
MOON
This design applies the Kiriko technique that cuts the wooden lattice in the middle which renders light and shade with its daring pattern, accentuating the surrounding space.* Slit handle will be included in the Slim Line series.
-
GRADATION
GRADATION LARGE
GRADATION SMALL
By adding variation to the increments of the latticework, gradation of the wood will appear. It will impress you with not only the frontal view but the light and shade play from the sideview as well. * Slit handle will be included in the Slim Line series.
-
ANGLE
DIAMOND
SLASH SLIM
Slash Shoji design incorporates a diagonal latticework which requires a higher level of skill than work that applies materia l perpendicularly. The sharp lines created by sure hands will create a sense of rectitude in the space.* Slit handle will be included in the Slim Line series.
-
ASYMMETRY
CORNER GRID
SLOPE
The patterns differ from left to right side of the Shoji.
It will bring movement to the space with its dynamic and splendid design.* Slit handle will be included in the Slim Line series.
